Oral Thermometers
Oral thermometers are great value for money (most are less than £10) and can be very accurate. It takes at least 15 seconds and sometimes up to a minute to get a reading with an oral thermometer so they are not ideal for babies although most can be used under the armpit as well. Recommended for children 3 years or older.
It is important when choosing an oral thermometer to buy the digital type and no the old glass tubes types that contain mercury as there is always a chance that the tube can break and leak!
